Let the mammoth project begin - It became clear to us right in the beginning that the right way to tackle this project was to start right back in the beginning. It was going to be the only way to do the job properly and so we began...The first goal was to rebuild the entire aft section of the interior and make it liveable so we can move aboard. We are currently building our master cabin before we will start work on the outside. We plan to make modifications to the keel to reduce her draft as well as repainting her hull and topsides. Once we have done that, the focus will be on the deck and some modifications of the sailing set up to enable us to sail her short handed, new dodger/hard top etc before we will be moving back inside to finish the forward section. Our job list is long and we are expecting to cross off the last items on the water! Due to the extent of this project we have chosen to follow functional and cost-effective but structurally sound boatbuilding techniques and finishes with low-maintenance in mind.
